Big changes

Last week was one interesting week, to say the least, & life-changing....for the next 10 weeks. I found out last week that I have gestational diabetes. Seriously??? Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction, followed by a little pity party for a couple days. That's why my poor blog has been suffering...sorry. Anywho, I basically failed my 1 hour & 3 hour glucose tolerance test. My fasting (not eating for a LONG time for me) blood sugar was fine, but after drinking the flavored syrup (which wasn't bad at all), my 1 hour & 2 hour blood sugar was high, but my 3 hour test was good. SO, I had to meet with the diabetic educator/counselor chick who is making me check my sugar 4 times a day & count carbs now!!! Seriously??? Again, my exact words. Remember, I have always been healty, eaten well & been active, so this is a HUGE change. I'm pregnant dangit & just want to EAT!!! Needless to say, I am learning a LOT about food & carbs now & it gave me motivation to get back on the treadmill!! I quit walking on it about a month & a half ago & just haven't gotten back on it...until last week! So, if you ever want to know how many carbs are in 15 french fries, 1 cup of milk or 2 cookies, I'm your girl! Thank goodness this is only a pregnancy thing & I wasn't just told I'm diabetic for the rest of my life, plus I get a little crying, pooping reward in the end! :)

I am headed to Franklin on Thursday & CAN NOT WAIT to get there!!! My sister & 2 closest friends, Sam & Liz, are having a baby shower for us on Saturday!!! YAY!! I am really looking forward to this trip because I will get to see a lot of my friends & family. This may possibly be my last trip home alone before Miss Finley makes her appearance? We'll see? Happy Birthday & Anniversary!

I just wanted to wish my wonderful mom a very Happy Birthday! I cannot tell you how much this woman means to me & how awesome she is! I know we all think our mom is the best, but I have to have the BEST, greatest & coolest mom in the whole world! I could go on & on about how great she is, but words just can't describe her.

Happy Anniversary to me & Jimmy! 3 years ago today I married an absolutely wonderful man, that I just adore & is truly my best friend. I can definitely relate to that Brad Paisley song, "I thought I loved you then," because my love for him has grown so much since we met. Yes, there are days that I just want to strangle him & I'm sure there will be more, but I do love him more than ever! Soon, we will not just be Jimmy & Cindy, so we are trying to enjoy our time together as "just us." We can't wait to be a family of 3!

The COW, that is! I went for my 28 week appointment today & everything is great, except for the fact that I gained 8 lbs since my last appointment. That means I'm up 23 lbs total! I'm just now starting my 3rd trimester, so how much more am I going to gain??? Holy crap, the thought just scares me! My doctor wasn't the least bit worried, in fact, he laughed at me for complaining about it. Not funny doc! He did give me a hug & told me "you look great, feel great, so don't worry about it." I am going for my glucose tolerance test tomorrow while I'm at work, since it's just across the hall.

Well, after my crappy weight gain news, Jimmy & I decided to play with the camera a little. So, this week's belly shots are more "formal" or not in shorts/t-shirt...but we did have fun. Not only do I feel like a cow after today, but I look like a sway-back horse in the one picture. Nice!

Bigger than it appears

I promise my belly looks bigger than it does in these pictures, or maybe it just feels that way! I am 27 weeks today! I can't believe how fast the 2nd trimester is flying by?? I am still amazed by all of her movements & we just sit in bed every night watching my belly jump. Jimmy & I just stare at it & then get to laughing at how she rolls around, kicks & punches in there. My belly gets all distorted for a few seconds sometimes & we try to guess what body part she's using at the time. Silly, I know. I am still enjoying pregnancy very much & feeling great!!

I go back to the doctor next Monday, so more updates to come!!! Leave me some love!!
